BIOGRAPHY David Caterini is a graphic designer, educator, and writer. He makes idea-driven publications, websites, identities, and videos with a focus on typography. He writes about contemporary media, digital tools, and the cultural ideology of interfaces. In his creative research, he explores methods of reimagining digital tools and illuminating their embedded biases.

Currently, he teaches in the MFA Graphic Design program at CalArts, and previously has taught graphic design at Whittier College, OCAD University, and York University. He has worked as a digital designer for the Toronto Star and OCAD University, and has freelanced for clients in the arts and culture sector. His writing has been published in IDEA Magazine and Afterimage: The Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism. He holds an MFA from California Institute of the Arts, and a BDes from OCAD University.
